On the seventieth anniversary of the Communist Takeover of China, members of the Chinese Progressive Association, CPA, organized raising the flag of Communist China over Boston City Hall Plaza.

The flag was raised to celebrate the “National Day” and is reportedly raised every year. This year, City Councilor Ed Flynn was on site to support the members of the CPA.

The anniversary marks a very violent time in Chinese history, at least forty-five million people were killed by the regime founder Mao Zedong.

Further, two months ago, a Christian organization sued the city because they were not allowed to raise the Christian Flag at the same site. However, Boston allows other religions, political ideologies, and flags of other countries to be raised at the site.

Several people protested the raising of the Chinese flag and recorded the video below.
