Nearly twenty cruise missiles and drones armed with explosives pounded the Saudi Oil Facilities causing significant damage, and crippling the facility, according to a Senior US Official. Although Iran denies the attacks, US leadership is claiming that Iran is responsible, and awaiting confirmation from Saudi Arabia.

President Donald Trump regarding the strikes says that the US is “locked and loaded” should the attack be confirmed to have come from Iran. Further, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has already suggested that Iran is directly responsible for the strikes.

However, Houthi rebels in neighboring Yemen have claimed responsibility for the strikes. The Rebels are stationed hundreds of miles away near the Yemen-Saudi border. But, a Senior US Official stated in response to their claims; “It was Iran. The Houthis are claiming credit for something they did not do.”

Also, Mike Pompeo tweeted that there was “no evidence that the attacks came from Yemen.” In response, the Iranian leadership has accused Secretary of State of “max deceit.” Further, the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said ‘there will be no talks with the US at any level.’

On Sunday night, the President confirmed that they are waiting for Saudi Arabia to confirm the culprit. Further, the Senior US Official, while speaking with ABC News, stated that the ‘President is fully aware of who is responsible, but wants Saudi to acknowledge it, if they want US help.’
