Senator Kamala Harris on Monday, during a CNN Townhall, claimed that if she is to be elected President that she will take executive action on Gun Control if Congress fails to act within the first one hundred days of her presidency.

During her speech she referenced school shootings and how students and parents are having conversations at night about drills that students partake in for safety, should a shooting take place at the school.

Senator Harris then claims that “in our America, that should never have to happen.” Further, she also says that; “It is a false choice to suggest you are either in favor of the Second Amendment or you want to take everyone’s guns away. We need leaders in Washington, D.C., who have the courage to speak the truth.”

Senator Harris outlined the measures she believes are appropriate for gun control reform;
– Near-universal Background Checks
– Renew the Assault Weapons Ban
– Revoke licenses of gun manufacturers and dealers who break the law and, for the worst cases, the Harris plan would make them criminally liable.

Senator Harris is not the only Presidential hopeful who intends on reforming gun control, Senator Elizabeth Warren and Senator Bernie Sanders have also consistently, stated their opposition to the Second Amendment.

The Second Amendment: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
