The Chinese military has reportedly landed in Venezuela to provide humanitarian assistance to the Maduro regime, days after Russian soldiers arrived and installed a helicopter training facility.
The Chinese liberation army dispatched 120 soldiers to the region, who landed at Venezuela’s Margarita Island, to deliver aid to Maduro’s government forces.
The arrival of Russian soldiers in Venezuela drew heavy criticism from the Trump Administration as well as several members of Congress.
“Maduro calls for hands-off #Venezuela while he invites security forces from Cuba and Russia, so he and his cronies can keep plundering Venezuela. It is time for Venezuelan institutions to stand for their sovereignty. Russia and Cuba, #HandsOffVenezuela,” U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo tweeted on March 28th.
It would appear that both the Chinese military and the Russian military are actively attempting to counter the United States’ attempt to remove Maduro and assist the embattled socialist government of Venezuela.
The Venezuelan people have been ravaged by continual crises, and are in desperate need of aid. Further, Colombia and other surrounding countries, such as the United States have tried to dispatch Humanitarian assistance to the region; however, each peaceful attempt is countered by the Venezuelan military.

On April 2nd, 2019 hundreds of Venezuelans stormed Colombia’s border; “The situation is very difficult, we have endured hunger, we have no electricity or water … We therefore come in desperation to seek food in Colombia,” one of the Venezuelans told daily El Tiempo.”
Further, Colombia indirectly warned Russia against inserting more troops in the region to support the embattled Maduro regime. However, with the arrival of the Chinese military as well, the crisis in the country is only deepening.
